ISC Founding Chairman Gilani Emphasizes Parliamentary Diplomacy for Regional Cooperation at UN in Geneva

GENEVA, July 30, 2025 – During the continuation of the General Debate at the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Pakistan's Senate Chairman and Founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference (ISC) Yousuf Raza Gilani delivered a compelling address emphasizing the critical role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering regional and global cooperation.


Speaking at the UN Assembly Hall on Wednesday afternoon, Chairman Gilani outlined his dual vision for strengthening international parliamentary relations through his leadership roles. "In my dual role as the Chairman-Senate of Pakistan and Founding Chairman of Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference, ISC, I have laid a special focus on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy to build regional and global connectivity and cooperation to address common challenges," Chairman Gilani stated.


Pakistan to Host International Speakers' Conference In a significant announcement, Chairman Gilani extended a formal invitation to parliamentary leaders worldwide to participate in the upcoming Speakers' Conference in Islamabad, scheduled for November 11-12, 2025. The conference, hosted by Pakistan under the ISC framework, aims to bring together parliamentary speakers from across the globe to address pressing regional and international issues.


"I invite you all to participate in this conference and looking forward to meet you in Islamabad," Chairman Gilani said, addressing his fellow speakers at the Geneva gathering.
